Firestone Junior Campmasters
The Junior Campmaster program is a group of Scouts BSA between the age of 10 and 18 who are interested in volunteering their time at Firestone.
The essential job functions of a Junior Campmaster may include, but are not
limited to the following:
-
Learn how to provide and follow safety instructions on a bb gun, slingshot, archery, and tomahawk range with the Rangemaster
-
Assist the NRA Instructors on the rifle and shotgun range
-
Assist the Camp Ranger and/or the Junior Campmaster Advisor with any task(s) throughout camp
-
Assist with miscellaneous tasks at large events and camporees
-
Utilize various hand tools, such as a handsaw, hammer, shovel, hoe, axe, etc.
-
Cheerful service to Firestone Scout Reservation
All Junior Campmasters must exercise good/sound judgment; have the willingness to learn different procedures while working on a range; operate a handheld radio to communicate with other camp staff; effectively communicate, work responsively, safely, and respectfully with other camp staff members, campers, Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and parents.
